Lightning a scene properly is one of the most important tasks for creating good video projects. For this assignment, you will look at tips and a tutorial from the MediaCollege website.
Directions
Please complete the following:
- Read the information found on this page.
- Sketch and label a diagram that with key light, back light, and fill light.
- Write a short description of the function each light serves.
- Check out this 3-Point Lighting Simulator.
- This simulator shows you the effects of different lights in the 3-point system.
After you have completed that, please:
- Identify at least three tips for lighting people from this link.
- Identify at least three safety tips when using lighting from this link.

This assignment will be checked before the next class period.
Students that are present, but do not complete, this assignment will:
- Lose 15 minutes of computer access time during the next class. Students that still do not complete the assignment will lose computer access until it is complete.
- Receive 50% credit for the assignment once it is finished. Students that do not submit it by the end of the next class period will receive a zero. They will still need to complete it to regain computer access.
