[Digital Art] Draw Something 9: Birds with Arms

Background Info.

For this Draw Something, you will use some of the features of Paint.net to recreate a popular Internet meme: birds with arms. These images feature birds with (usually human) arms edited into the photo. These arms should "realistically" blend into the bird. When done well, these can images can be quite funny.

[Digital Art] Draw Something 8: Athletes Playing Instruments

The image above was the inspiration for this project idea. It is a funny picture, but it also requires some significant photo editing skills to make. For this project, you need to find a picture of at least one athlete competing in a game or match for their sport. You will use Paint.net or other photo editing software to make it appear as though that athlete is actually playing an instrument.

Content Rubric

[Assignment] Audio Challenge #02: Superhero or Villain

Background

For this audio challenge you will take on the role of a Super Hero or Super Villain. You have taken over control of Earth's broadcast systems. You will have 30-60 seconds to tell all of the people of the Earth how you plan to save the Earth from certain destruction (Super Hero) or how you plan to destroy it (Super Villain).

You recordings should be fun in nature. Please do not discuss graphic violence in your project. Even if you are a villain, please do not be offensive or derogatory.

Content Rubric

  1. Introduce yourself using your Super Hero/Villain name. [5 Points]
  2. Explain your plan to save (hero) or destroy (villain). [5 Points]

[Assignment] Audio Challenge #01: Poetry or Prose

Background

Creating audio projects is another useful function computers can perform. They allow users to record, edit, and playback various types of audio files. Most of these tasks can be performed quickly and easily with different input devices, software, and output devices. In class, we will use microphones and the Audacity software for our first project.

Students will record themselves reciting their favorite piece of poetry or prose. It can be the work of another author or written by the student.

Content Rubric

  1. Student recites and records a work of poetry or prose. [4.5 Points]
  2. Recording is at least 30 seconds but less than than 120 seconds. [4.5 Points]

Face swaps are a popular use of digital graphics software. For this Draw Something, you will use Paint.net to create a face swap. STUDENTS CANNOT USE PHONE/TABLET APPS OR WEBSITES TO COMPLETE THIS PROJECT.
